As I always do, please allow me to first and foremost thank you for your membership.  During this time of significant changes in the nonprofit sector, with intense competition and pressure for your dollar, we appreciate your commitment to and confidence in AFP.
In your organization, you are striving to meet the increasing demand for services with fewer resources. You need AFP. Whether you are a small or one person shop or if you are fortunate to have a larger staff the Association of Fundraising Professionals can help YOU!

In addition to vast online resources available to members only, the local connection to colleagues is invaluable.

Share your concerns and successes with fellow professionals. Get support from our mentoring program. Join us for the camaraderie and networking. You need AFP. But we also need you. We need your input to ensure we are offering the effective ethical programs that are relevant to you.  We need you to give back of your time, talents and treasures - just as your organization does. Committees currently seeking volunteers include: Membership, Program Committee and Future Board Members.

Share your vision for the future of AFP so we can continue to provide the resources and support that help you. This is our 50th year of honoring our past and inspiring our future. Join us! We cannot continue to provide services without volunteers like you.

As your organization is budget planning for the upcoming year, I urge you to do all that you can to include AFP membership in your fundraising budget. Also, I wanted to be sure were aware that the 2011 AFP International Conference will be taking place in Chicago. If there was ever a year to take advantage of this remarkable conference, this is it. It doesn't get any closer than this! Information on the 2011 AFP International Conference can be found at www.afpnet.org.
